Hello everyone! It's been some time since I have written here and I apologize for that. I've spent most of the summer putting the finishing touches on my new CD which will be released on November 11. It's called Rock of Ages..Hymns and Faith and I hope that you enjoy it. It's a collection of some of my favorite hymns as well as a few more contemporary selections. Recording this CD has brought me closer to the Lord in so many ways and it was truly a spiritual experience. It is my prayer that you feel the same way when you listen to it.
My favorite song on the CD is called "Joyful Joyful We Adore Thee" which is set to Beethoven's Ninth Symphony more commonly known as "Ode to Joy." Ever since I was a little girl at First Baptist in Leesburg, it has meant a lot to me. The words express such wonder in God and His creation, in the magic of existing, in just knowing that God loves us. It's pure praise and I never get tired of singing it! There have many days when I've felt down, when I've wondered just what God has in store for me, what my purpose in this world is and then I listen to those words and I remember that no matter what happens, God is in control. While I know that many of you are familiar with the song, I'd still like to share the words of the first verse with you.
Joyful, joyful, we adore Thee, God of glory, Lord of love; Hearts unfold like flow'rs before Thee, Op'ning to the sun above. Melt the clouds of sin and sadness; Drive the dark of doubt away; Giver of immortal gladness, Fill us with the light of day.
It is my prayer for each and every one of you reading this, that God melts the clouds of sin and sadness and drives the dark of doubt away from your lives. May He bless you and keep you and remember that no matter what, He knows exactly what He has in mind for you even when you don't.
Blessings, Rachel
